Today, Assembly is renaming to Ordinal.
When we started Assembly, we had a simple belief: managing social media content should be delightful, not draining. We were tired of watching teams juggle disconnected tools, drown in spreadsheets, and scramble to manually post content across platforms. There had to be a better way.
But our mission went deeper than convenience. Over the last few years, there’s been a fundamental transformation in what social media means for businesses. What began as a place to share casual updates has evolved into one of the most powerful revenue and acquisition channels available. Social platforms like LinkedIn and Twitter/X aren't just for brand awareness anymore - they're where deals close, leads convert, and communities form.
Yet most companies still approach social content the way they did ten years ago: posting whenever inspiration strikes, with no real strategy, no coordination, and no structure.
That needed to change.
Why Ordinal
Succeeding on social media today requires the same discipline and sophistication that companies bring to their sales pipeline or product roadmap. It demands coordination across teams, strategic sequencing of content, and a systematic approach to distribution and engagement.
That's why we're we chose Ordinal as our new name.
The name comes from ordinal numbers - first, second, third. Numbers that denote order, sequence, and position. It reflects what we've always believed: that social media success isn't about random acts of posting. It's about building a content engine with structure, discipline, and intentionality.
Ordinal helps teams bring order to the chaos of social content. It's about having a system where every piece of content has its place, every post follows a strategy, and every team member knows their role in driving real business outcomes.
Looking Forward
While our name has changed, our commitment hasn't. We're still building the platform for teams who take social media seriously.

- Team collaboration tools that bring structure to your content workflow
- Revenue-based analytics that prove out ROI from your social efforts
This rebrand represents our evolution from a tool that made social management easier to a platform that makes social media a genuine driver of business results.
Here's to what comes next.
